How Abby feels about Halloween...

I love this picture. Abby - Halloween.

We had the pleasure of starting our trick-or-treating off with Abby and the girls. Abby has no problem letting you know that Halloween is her least favorite holiday. So, when Lose showed the same emotion when a house was not home to give her candy, I thought we should document it... Although Abby - my kids had a blast with yours. And somehow, your girls always look adorable and as if it was easy for you.
This isn't a Halloween picture but I had to throw it in. Can you believe this gorgeous boy? He was actually sitting there talking to me in this pose when I realized how adorable he looked. Can I please have eyes like that?
Maile and Brousseau kids. . .

We were lucky enough to have a last minute Zeller sleepover last night. . . The boys decided to fit all four of them on the air mattress in the living room - which didn't last long. . . They had soo much fun together though.

We were taking still shots of each of the kids but who knew we'd get the treasure of Line in mid-cheer too!!

Emma's costume was my FAVORITE this year. . . a little pink bug.

At the very end of trick-or-treating our neighborhood. Emma was a trooper and konked while we walked...

Supermodel

So Matt says we grow supermodels around here. Isn't he sweet? Our daughters are our pride and joy, of course, but bias aside they are TALL. So Matt, to keep me from freaking out and thinking our girls will be freakishly tall so that they won't ever get asked out or have boyfriends, just tells me they are going to be his beautiful supermodels. Emma had her 6-month check up today. AND. . . Yea! Thanks to all of the love, support, and prayers - she does NOT need a helmet. Thank goodness. That is one more budget item I don't have room for right? She also grew 2 inches in 6 weeks. She is off of the charts in her height. Go figure. . .

My Brother Naki

My sweet brother-in-law passed away unexpectedly this morning. Naki Maile, father of 6 young girls, my beautiful nieces, died early this morning in his home. He was only 32. He was simply amazing and a fantastic teacher and person. Our Brousseau family will never forget him or the lessons we learned from him. We love his girls, including his Abby. One of his best friends in life, his brother Carlton has set up a website in his honor. For those of you who are interested you can go to http://www.nakifamily.com/ to read more about him. For those out there that know the Maile family and would love to help them, aside from love they truly need financial help at this time. Abby now has the enormous responsibility of raising these 6 girls, ranging in age from 9 to 1. Any other donations can be made through Wells Fargo under the account name of the Naki Maile family. Thanks for your love and support...

That took too long. . .

So during dinner this evening . . .Gray said he had to go to the bathroom and ran upstairs. . . .

and didn't come back for at least 10-15 minutes. You wonder, what were you the mom doing for that long and not notice he was gone??? I did notice - I was feeding Emma, and even commented to Matt - Gray's been up there for too long, that's not normal. So I yelled to him to see if he was okay. He yelled back, "I'm just going to the bathroom!" He did come back after a while and we moved on with our night of dinner, cleanup, bathing Emma, etc. It wasn't until I went into my bathroom and noticed the scissors and hair on the counter and floor that I realized what he had ACTUALLY been doing. Candy - sound familiar? Soo a new haircut for Gray happened tonight. . .

I also took a couple of new pictures of Emma. . . Enjoy!

I told Gray to show me how he felt about cutting is hair and this is what I got. . .

This is how he feels about his new haircut, the only solution to what he had done...

This is stressful. . .

So we have a small dilemma at our house. Okay, it's a big one to me. Emma has a flat spot on the back side of her head. After our last pediatrician appointment they let us know that if it doesn't improve we will need to take her to a specialist and most likely fit her for a helmet. No problem right? Well, apparantly helmets are medical supplies and insurance does NOT cover it, any of it. Any guesses as to how much those cost? $2000. So, here's the deal. On top of that, Matt works in the construction industry. Enough said right? Money isn't exactly flowing, not even close. . . So - we REALLY need your help. Can you please please please pray for our family that either Emma's head will improve or some miracle will happen that will help us to afford the help that she would then need if it doesn't?

For those of you that know me. . . I hardly ever ask for anything. I'm at the point that I'm asking. I feel close to the brink of a stressful break. . . lots going on, don't need to complain, vent, or whine. Emma's little dilemma just feels like the straw that just might break the camel's back. Please add us to your prayers. . . .

Thanks everyone. . . .

Things I've Learned from Kids

So I learned a few new things from kids this week -

First - Gray taught me that gardens are "places where we grow the food that we don't like."

Second - I learned that when burying an animal/pet you should break out into song, specifically the Star Spangled Banner. It helps with the tension and grief. It's the perfect funeral song.

Third - I learned that Bumblebee, the transformer, has a last name, it's Tuna.

Here's to a great next week!
