Trouble part 2

This is part 2 of the debacle yesterday - After playing in the mud for a while, I told the boys to take off their shorts so I could hose all of the mud and grass off of them before they went back inside the house. I turned around, again, for 2 seconds, and turned back around to see Jax teaching Gray how to pee off of the deck. The question is this - how many other times has Jax done this without me knowing? I again had to keep a straight face --- SOOO hard. . . .

Trouble. . .

I should have known better. Simply said. I should have known better than to put my boys in their room TOGETHER for timeout. When I came back up - Jax had 3 hats on, Gray's bed was destroyed and they were on the top bunk playing together. So much for timeout. This was yesterday during choir practice which is now at our house because I am the pianist. Matt was trying to learn the song. This is what happens when my boys are left to their own devices . . .
I should have known better again today. I should never let the boys go outside on their own while I am trying to run on the treadmill inside. What I found when I went out there to check on them were ALL, I repeat, ALL of our water bottles empty and thrown all over the backyard in additon to a BRAND new mudhole. That was at first glance. THEN I looked at my boys. You couldn't have recognized them. COVERED in mud. It was soo funny but I had to keep a straight face and teach them that maybe dad's water bottles for work are not what we should use to pour into a mud hole. I made the boys clean them ALL up and while trying to keep a straight face, had a discussion with my crazy boys that there is a time for mud and water play - but maybe let's ask Mom to help us get the water first? We all agreed and then I got the sprinklers out for them. Once again, I now know better. Boys. Nough said.

The blessings of good friends . . .

I have been blessed with a very SOCIAL husband as most of you know. If it were up to me, I would sit in the back of sunday school, or hide like a hermit in my house. I just have a hard time getting out there and coming out of my shell. Matt and become really good friends with a couple that used to live across the street from us and golfs with the husband several times a week. Well, this couple owns a cabin in Heber and only uses it every so often . . .Last weekend he mentioned this to Matt and then said - you guys should use it! We just keep a to-do checklist up there, just make sure to follow it, turn the water off when you leave, etc., etc. We jumped on the chance. This cabin rocks. AND it so happens to be a short drive from the outlets at Park City! Our dream mini-vacation. Here are some pics from this weekend. We went up and invited Mike, Tracy and their kids to come with us. It was SUCH a blast. We, the adults, didn't go to bed until around 3:00 am to be woken by crazy kids 4 hours later. . . Still fun and still worth it. . .

This is Addie and Maddie trying to catch interesting bugs . . .

SOOO much fun - Matt and I have already decided to take their offer again on our anniversary! Can't wait. . .

Fireworks. . .

Happy pioneer day! Not a lot of new info to share. We were lucky to have the Maile's come to the Owls game with us last night on Pioneer Day. We had fun watching the game and the fireworks show after it! Here are some pics. . .

This picture doesn't really belong with the Owls game adventure but I had to share it. Jax has started going golfing with Matt as often as possible and funny enough has gotten blisters from it. He came home Thursday morning and said, "MOM! Look at my splinter!" So Matt found a golf glove his size for him to wear when they go. He was so excited that he wore it ALL day including nap time. . .

Till next time. . . Hope you all have a good weekend!

Grandma is so spoiled. . .

So I was driving to Matt's office this morning to take him something, not of importance to this . . ., and my boys were sitting quietly behind me, apparently thinking - which seemed weird. Anyway, Jax, out of nowhere, says - "Mom, Grandma is really spoiled." And nothing else after. I waited for more to come after that and when nothing did, I asked him, "you mean Grandma Brousseau?" He said, "No, Grandma Davis! She has lots of stuff, like a boat, a car, she's just really spoiled." It was hilarious. For all you out there reading this - know that he was just stating the obvious - he wasn't upset or being mean. You could tell he was just thinking about all of the cool stuff his grandma has. . . Lucky Duck Grandma!

Anyway - we are lucky enough to have friends that hook us up at the Orem Owls Baseball games down here. . . We feel spoiled. At each game they let our boys play in the players' batting cages and sit with them, the grounds crew, all by ourselves at the game. Each morning our boys wake up and immediately ask if there is an Owls' game today . . . Last game the boys were having batting practice in the cage, or so I thought. I went down there and found Jax practicing and Gray running around with a bucket stuck on his head . . . Typical.

Here my boys are watching the guys get ready to go out and rake the infield at the bottom of the 5th inning. They usually get to take turns going out with them and riding on the tractor. They LOVE it!
This picture is in there randomly because I realized the other day that I am NEVER in any pictures. So I asked Matt to take one with me actually in one . . .

My two crazy boys at the game . . . By the way - Gray's new thing is to walk up to you and say , "what's your name? what's your favorite sport?" - to everyone. I get asked those questions a million times a day. I've learned to mix it up and change my sport each time - it throws him for a loop . .. Jax having more batting practice!
Another time going down to take a picture. . . Gray is learning to pose for the camera!
Jax's love of the game is so evident here to me . . . He cannot get enough.

That's all for now! Till next time . . .

Softball & Swimming . . .

I don't really have a lot to tell - but I did take a lot of pictures over the last couple of days, so I thought I would post them. I have figured out that if the kids and I get to Seven Peaks RIGHT at opening time - then the kids can be pretty much the only kids in the kid pool for at least 20 minutes. They love it - let's just say it relieves some stress for me since Gray cannot master the whole waiting in line thing. . . Here are some pictures . . .

Okay - I was so proud of Line last night because Gray kept following her around and asking to hold her hand. She, of course, complied. He was carrying "his stuff" with him everywhere last night. We are doing SOOO good with potty training. I think it's because we got him the stuffed animal characters of Kung Fu Panda and he gets to keep them if he keeps his unders dry - see the picture below. . . also - just other pictures from the night of softball!

Dumb and Dumber anyone? Till later. . .

Summer - life of swimming and potty training. . .

Bring on Summer! Okay - so these goggles have become attached to Gray's face - I swear. Every time we are near the water he tells me - I need my goggles! He won't trade with his brother and sister or take them off - EVER. Or so it feels like. I just love this picture. It summarizes my summer - swimming and potty training. That's right- I've taken on the task of potty training Gray. So far so good, well sometimes good. Any suggestions? Gray insists that his Lightning Mcqueen pullup likes pee in it! See mom? He'll say - he wikes it - he wikes to get wet! Work in progress. High note for Gray - he told Matt probably 20 times today that "he's the best daddy eber."

So, I unfortunately, did not take pictures this weekend but we were crazy busy for the 4th trying to get in a fun weekend before Daddys goes back to work. Let me back up to first recognize that the Maile family softball team rocked last Thursday and won both of their games. A little shout out to my hubbie who hit 4 homeruns in those 2 games. He humbly says that it just feels good to get his swing back. Yea Matt!!!

Okay so for the 4th - We all, except for Matt who was at his second softball game, we went to bed early Thursday night to get up early and see the hot air balloons take off in Provo Friday morning. Somehow I slept throught the alarm. . . this is not a new problem for those of you who know me - I am HORRIBLE at mornings. Anyway - I woke up in a panic at 6:30 and was so bummed out. My trooper husband didn't miss a beat. He quickly woke up our kids and hustled everyone into the truck. A quick drive-thru at Krispy Kremes and we were into Provo in seriously 20 min, still in our PJs (of course). Luckily there were still balloons everywhere and my kids were so excited. We got to see a couple of balloons land and followed one in our car. Again - Yea daddy!

After the balloons we needed to hustle to Kaysville for the 11:00 parade. Thanks to Aunt Michelle and Uncle David for saving us seats! So we quickly showered at home, loaded up the truck with our camping gear and headed up north. We spent the day in Kaysville with Daddy enjoying the open mike and some Michael Buble sheet music, swimming at Grandma and Grandpa Brousseaus', the kids playing with cousins, and mommy finally off-duty. Plenty of good food for a barbeque, a little Diet Coke and chocolate and I am soo happy. For those of you up north - Diet Coke has become my new thing - can't explain it but I'm addicted. Anyway - we ended the night with the "beautiful fireworks" as Jax calls them and then camped in the Franks' backyard.

To our surprise Saturday morning, Michelle and Davis made a huge breakfast for us to feast on. We then headed to take the kids to see Wall-E, which by the way, I totally loved. Has anyone else seen it? I don't know why but I almost cried at one part! Anyway I'm hormonal or something. Finish the movie and then what next? Of course swimming at Grandpa and Grandmas'. We had a blast- we are exhausted, but had a blast. Thanks to our northern-Utah family for a fun 4th of July. But so our Northern Idaho family knows they haven't been forgotten - when we got in the car to come home- Jax wanted to know if we were going to Grandma Davis' now. He really remembers our annual trips to Idaho for the 4th of July and missed it this year! We miss you guys! Anyway, we hustled back to Orem to be here for Covelli's baby blessing - our adopted son - seriously the cutest baby ever. Congrats to Turreal and Kim. Anyway -Till next time. . .

PS - The broken window if finally fixed and I got REALLY smart and bought the boys some practice spongy golfballs. Let's keep our fingers crossed it doesn't happen again next year. . .
PSS - I got a second different calling today - I was released from Cub Scouts and placed in the Primary as the Chorister. Is that how you spell it? I can't wait - it is going to be so much fun. . .
